The Equipment Lifecycle Problem

Technology upgrades often leave organisations with devices they no longer need. Some still have certain value, but most need secure disposal. The challenge is managing these without disrupting business operations or data security.

The Challenges Most Organisations Face

Common IT Asset Challenges

Old devices take up space even though they have little value.

Business data must be securely erased before devices are reused or recycled.

It is unclear how old devices can be exchanged when buying new ones.

Organisations demand proof that old equipment has been disposed of responsibly.

Businesses want to reduce e-waste but are unsure where to start.

Need help with sustainability reporting.

Vega addresses both sides: trade-in for upgrade value and certified e-waste management for responsible disposal.

What Is Trade-In?

A Smarter Upgrade Solution
Trade-in is a simple way to reduce the cost of upgrading your IT equipment. Vega accepts laptops, desktops, tablets, Macs, and other IT devices in any condition including working, damaged, obsolete, or end-of-life equipment. We assess every device and recommend the most suitable option, whether it's trade-in, refurbishment, or responsible e-waste disposal.

What Is E-Waste Management?

Responsible IT Asset Disposal

When a device is almost obsolete, it needs to be disposed of responsibly. This includes laptops, desktops, servers, monitors, networking equipment, cables, and other electronic devices. Proper e-waste recycling helps protect sensitive components and recover reusable materials. This also helps reduce environmental impact.

What Happens to Equipment

A Secure Recycling Process

Equipment arrives at the certified facility. Assessment determines whether any components can be recovered (e.g., precious metals or usable parts). Remaining material is broken down safely using approved procedures. Hazardous materials are isolated and handled per environmental regulations. Recyclable materials (plastics, copper, and aluminium) are recovered and sent to appropriate recycling streams.

What Organisations Get

Complete Documentation And Support

Disposal Certificate

Documentation confirming your equipment has been recycled through authorised e-waste channels.

Environmental Reporting

Reports that help track the environmental impact of your e-waste recycling, where available.

Compliance Support

Documentation to support internal policies, audits, and regulatory requirements.

Secure Disposal Records

Clear records showing how obsolete IT assets were collected and processed.

ESG Reporting Support

Supporting documentation for sustainability and ESG reporting initiatives.

The Environmental Impact

Reducing E-Waste Responsibly

Responsible e-waste recycling helps prevent hazardous materials from entering the environment. It also enables the recovery of valuable materials such as metals and plastics.

Many organisations also have sustainability and compliance goals. Authorised e-waste recycling provides the documentation needed to support internal reporting, ESG initiatives, and audit requirements.

The Complete Lifecycle - From Old Equipment to New Technology

Every Step, Expertly Managed

Assessment

We assess your existing equipment to identify devices that are eligible for trade-in and those that should be recycled. You'll receive a trade-in estimate before the upgrade begins.

Pickup

Our team collects the equipment from your location and records every device before it leaves your premises. Data-bearing devices are handled securely throughout the process.

Data Destruction

All business data is securely erased before any device is reused or recycled. Where required, storage drives are physically destroyed, and a certificate of data destruction is provided.

Processing

Eligible devices are processed for trade-in, while end-of-life equipment is sent to authorised e-waste recycling partners. Where applicable, recycling is carried out through partners authorised by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and supported by relevant certifications such as ISO or R2.

Certification

Once the process is complete, you receive the relevant certificates and documentation, including proof of data destruction and e-waste disposal. These records can support your compliance and sustainability reporting requirements.

New Equipment Deployment

The approved trade-in value is adjusted against your new purchase. Your new devices are then delivered and deployed, making the upgrade process simple and efficient.
